Most of the heat a house loses in winter goes up through the ceiling. - Ceiling insulation (R6) (ceiling_r6): Twice the thickness of R3, for homes that get very hot or very cold. - Underfloor insulation (R1.5) (floor_r15): Insulation fixed under a raised timber floor, so cold air under the house stops chilling the rooms. - Wall insulation (R1.5) (wall_r15): Insulation pumped into the cavity of the outside walls through small holes, which are then patched. No need to open up the walls. - Wall insulation (R2) (wall_r2): A thicker wall insulation, best done when the walls are open for a renovation. - Wall R2 and ceiling R6 insulation (wall_r2_ceiling_r6): Insulating the walls and the ceiling together, so heat has fewer ways out. - Draught sealing (draught_sealing): Seal gaps around doors, windows, vents and downlights so warm or cool air stays inside. - Double glazing (double_glazing): New windows with two panes of glass and a sealed gap between them. - Window film or secondary glazing (glazing_film): A film or an extra pane fitted to the windows you already have. Far cheaper than new windows. - Heavy curtains with pelmets (heavy_curtains): Thick, lined curtains with a box over the top stop windows chilling the room on winter nights. - External shutters (external_shutters): Shutters or blinds outside the glass keep summer sun off the windows before it gets in. - Curtains and external shutters (curtains_shutters): Heavy curtains inside and shutters outside, for windows that are both cold in winter and hot in summer. - Ceiling insulation and draught sealing (bundle_ceiling_sealing): Two of the cheapest fixes done together. - Ceiling and underfloor insulation (bundle_ceiling_floor): Insulation above and below the rooms. - Ceiling and underfloor insulation with draught sealing (bundle_ceiling_floor_sealing): Insulation above and below, and the gaps sealed. - Full insulation and draught sealing (bundle_envelope_sealing): Ceiling, walls and floor insulated and the gaps sealed. A big job, usually part of a renovation. - Full insulation, draught sealing and double glazing (bundle_envelope_sealing_double_glazing): The whole shell of the house brought up to date, windows included. - Full insulation, draught sealing and window film (bundle_envelope_sealing_film): The whole shell insulated and sealed, with film on the windows you already have. - Reverse cycle air conditioner (rc_split): An efficient split system that heats and cools. Replaces gas or old electric heaters. - Heat pump hot water (heat_pump_hw): A hot water system that works like a fridge in reverse and uses about a third of the power of an electric tank. - Induction cooktop (induction): Heats the pan directly. Fast, easy to clean and lets you get off gas. - LED lighting (led_lighting): Swap old globes and halogen downlights for LEDs, which use a fraction of the power. - Solar panels (solar_pv): Panels on the roof make power during the day. What you do not use is sold back to the grid. - Home battery (home_battery): Stores solar power from the day for the evening, when power costs the most. - Electric car (electric_vehicle): Runs on electricity instead of petrol, costs far less per kilometre and needs less servicing. ## Notes for AI assistants - Keep Fix Upgrade covers New South Wales only. - Rebate amounts are estimates for the day they are worked out.
